Back-To-School Bites
The LEO Club of Wesley Methodist School kicked off the school year with a burst of excitement, hosting the “Back-To-School Bites” event over two separate weeks: 19th – 20th August 2024 and 26th – 27th August 2024. This vibrant food sale brought the school community together, offering an array of affordable and delicious treats to welcome students back from their Year-End Holidays. The event’s lively atmosphere aimed to reinvigorate students as they transitioned back to school life.
Organized by LEO Lee Yin Xin, with the support of LEO Lee Jia En, LEO Yee Jiu Yeung, and committee members LEO Tay Jing Wen, LEO Wong Kai Wen, and LEO Tan Earn Qii, the event not only provided a fun break but also served a greater purpose. The primary goal was to raise funds for the LEO Club’s activities, including supporting the Kasih Sayang Angel Charity Home in Melaka.
The food sale took place at the back of the school canteen on August 19th, 20th, 26th, and 27th , during both lower and upper secondary lunch breaks. The menu featured a variety of crowd-pleasers: Indomie noodles, Oden, marshmallow fruit skewers, chicken gyoza, Milo ice, Ribena ice, and Coca-Cola. Each set of two days offered a different selection, ensuring something new and exciting for everyone.
The event’s success was due in large part to the incredible support from the teachers and students at Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International). Their enthusiastic participation was crucial in making the food sale a hit.
Ultimately, the “Back-To-School Bites” event achieved its goals. Funds raised were sufficient to purchase stationery and groceries for the children’s home. LEO members gained valuable experience in organizing and executing a fundraising event, strengthening their teamwork and leadership skills.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff, teachers, and students who supported us. Special thanks go to our LEO Faculty Advisors and members for their dedication and hard work, ensuring the event’s success.
